They have built the reputation on the quality and reliability of the products, combined with continual product development, improvement and innovation. However, while keeping true to the principles laid down by William Winsor and Henry Newton in the 1800’s we actively embrace enhanced ideas and technologies. This medium increases the flow of acrylic colours, allowing the application of areas of flat, even colour without changing colour strength. It is also effective for hard edge painting techniques. It maintains the stability of the colour and slightly slows drying. This medium maintains no colour shift from wet to dry when used with Winsor & Newton artists acrylic.

Winsor & Newton Galeria Fluid Retarder is designed to extend the drying and working time of acrylic colours. Small amounts – just a few drops – will allow for extended blending and manipulation. Fluid Retarder does not contain sufficient acrylic resin to act as additional “binder” and should be used only in the amount needed to achieve the desired effect. Do not over-mix as this may cause acrylic colour to dry tacky or not dry properly.

Winsor & Newton Galeria Glass Beads Texture Gel is a granular paste containing tiny, colourless glass beads. Great for adding a unique texture to paintings. Use alone for colourless results or mix with acrylic colour. Dries with a glossy sheen giving a jewel like lustre to colour mixed with this medium. Can be overpainted. Apply with brush or knife.
